And Baby Makes 5

Luke got to show Daddy he was going to be a Big Brother one morning.

While we were happy with 2 boys and thought that might be our max sized family, God had different plans.

When my parents came a few weeks after we found out, it was special to be able to tell them in person and go out to "The Family Restaurant" where we've gone to celebrate the expectation of each new baby. (We've never been there when we've not just found out we're pregnant, which is kind of a shame because it's a nice little place, but now I don't know if can go there otherwise. LOL.)

The boys were so excited to found out we were expecting a baby! It has been really neat to see their excitement and learning through the experience this time, as Nathan was so little last time, he didn't really get what was happening. (He was 22 months when Luke was born.)

During the 2 weeks of Summer Training, David and I came home for the weekend to see the boys and to have our ultrasound...so we got to see all 3 of our kids that weekend!

We had our ultrasound at the hospital, and it's hospital policy at both local sites, to not tell you anything at the time; you have to wait for the report. (They've been sued a few times, apparently...which seems so ridiculous.) So, we had to wait a couple weeks, until I finally asked the midwife office if they could put the results in an envelope for us.

Our intern, Abigail, helped us out by getting to see the results first and wrapping up the appropriate gift for us to open. Earlier that day I had asked Luke (age 3) who was set the whole time on us having a girl, if he'd be happy if we had a boy. His response, "Yes, a girl brother." So...thankfully for everyone, we were excited to open the gift and discover pink inside for a girl!

This was baby girl on Aug 1 at 22 weeks. Crazy that 3 months from today (Aug 29) is her due date! It seems so short and yet so long all at the same time. =]
